Ichigo finds Rukia injured in the real world of was being attacked by a strange woman, who uses Rukia's zanpakuto abilities.
Ichigo learns that the strange woman is Rukia's zanpakuto Sode No Shirayuki.
Ichigo battles with Sode no Shirayuki but she escapes back into Soul Society.
Ichigo brings Rukia back to Urahara's shop and Inoue heals Rukia. Rukia reveals that the zanpakuto's have attack their masters, and reveals that Byakuya was seemingly defeat by his own zanpakuto - Senbonzakura.
The remaining of the shinigami of Gotei 13 regroup at the 4th Division headquaters while they try to reinforce their defences.
Urahara notices that only the zanpakuto in Soul Society have been affected and those in the real world are unaffected. Urahara decides to capture one of the human formed zanpakuto in Soul Society to learn more about the zanpakuto rebellion.
In the middle of the night, Rukia leaves for Soul Society in apparent to look for Byakuya. Ichigo and Yoruichi leave for Soul Society in an attempt to go after Rukia and save Soul Society.
